Orphans Kitchen in Auckland's trendy Ponsonby Road, has grown in to one of Auckland's most popular dining spots since its opening in 2013.
The indoor dining area has simple wooden tables and stools with a mix of tables for two and larger areas for group meals. A small courtyard offers outdoor dining in the sunshine.
The menu is based around seasonal local produce and includes indulgent additions such as truffles. The selection changes frequently to match the mood and weather of the seasons and often includes typically New Zealand dishes such as 'boil up'. A range of smaller meals are served at lunch.
Wine is sold by the glass, or diners can choose from the cheaper 'bin end' offerings by the bottle.
